Bingo Events Are Coming! Bingo Events Are Coming!

Send us Fan Mail

Year after year, there are a variety of bingo events across the country. Giving bingo players the opportunity to play the game they love, visit with friends and, of course, to win money. This week's episode gives a brief overview of notable bingo events from California to Connecticut.

[00:00:01] Hello, and welcome to The Broke Bingo Addict. This is a podcast that ventures through the wild and crazy world of bingo. This is much more than your grandmother's bingo. My name's Shari, and welcome to this week's episode, which as always is for entertainment

[00:00:26] purposes only. Hi everybody, and welcome to this week's episode of The Broke Bingo Addict. There is a lot going on. I mean a lot going on. I'm talking besides a variety of celebrations

[00:00:40] for birthdays for a lot of people that includes Akani and Gigi and Cash and just a lot of birthdays going on. There are also a lot of events that are going on across the country,

[00:00:51] some major events that are happening, and I just wanted to bring that to everybody's attention. I can't do everything, but I have narrowed it down to eight of them that kind of go,

[00:01:00] like I said, across the country. So that's what this week's episode is going to be about. And we're going to go in chronological order. We're starting off with the very first thing that's coming up after the post of this podcast. And the very first thing is going

[00:01:13] to be the one that I'm going to be attending. It is the much-waited-for Bosco Tech Summer Shakeup 2024. This is going to be the first time they actually have a two-day event. It's

[00:01:26] happening on June 22nd, which is a Saturday, and it's also happening on June 23rd, which is a Sunday. This is going to be a Western hold down theme type of thing. And now for the

[00:01:37] first day, it's going to be 10 strips each paying $2,000. You're going to get two of each of those 10 strips. Then there's also going to be 10 paper games. And then they're going to do this. They're going to have a $500 payout, and then each of the games also has a

[00:01:52] $500 Powerball that must go. So it's basically $1,000 for each one of those 10 games. So in addition to the 10 paper games and the 10 strips they're having, there's also an extra strip that's going to be Lucky Charms. Lucky Charms is paying $5,000. And you're going to

[00:02:09] get three of that strip with your buy-in. Now I'm also seeing there's going to be two bonus strips. There's no kind of information on whether those bonus strips are going to pay $500, $1,000, whatever. Just the knowledge that you are going to get two extra bonus strips.

[00:02:23] And you're also going to get a barbecue dinner. So that's something to look forward to. Now that's for Saturday. Sunday is pretty much the same. Only everything's going to be half price. There's also going to be 10 strips, but they're only paying $1,000.

[00:02:36] There's also going to be 10 paper games, but they're only paying $500. And there's not going to be the Lucky Charm strip for $5,000 that I'm aware of on Sunday. But that should

[00:02:46] be a pretty good day. I do want to tell people if you're coming here, if you haven't come to Bosco Tech before, you need to know it's a full day. You're going to get there. Let's see.

[00:02:57] I think the doors are opening at 12. That's for both days. Okay. Opening at 12. But on Saturday the games don't start until 3 30. Whereas on Sunday the games start at 2 p.m. Now like I said, it's a long day and I'm going historically speaking. I can't swear to it. But

[00:03:14] in the past, Paul has a pretty long day for these things. But I will say they're always a lot of fun. Paul really knows how to play it up and have a really good time. Make sure everybody's

[00:03:23] enjoying themselves. There'll be pictures. I'm sure there'll be some kind of band. There'll be something that you're not expecting that makes it extra, which is why this is always such a highly popular event. And to be completely honest, I'm pretty sure it's sold out. But I

[00:03:35] really think that a lot of times at the last minute somebody can't make it. Somebody had to cancel for whatever reason. They're sick. They missed their flight. Whatever. So it's always good

[00:03:43] to either touch base with Paul or somebody to see if you can get in maybe at the last minute if you're still interested in going. For those of you who are not aware, Bosco Tech is actually

[00:03:52] in Rosemead, California. So if you're in the area, if you can get to the area, you might want to give it a try. Now the next event is being held at Foxwoods Resort and Casino.

[00:04:03] This is happening on July 7th. It is their 37th annual Firecracker High Stakes Bingo. You're talking half a million dollars that's gonna go. This is actually taking place in Connecticut. I mean, to be exact, I think the address is 350 Trawley Lane Boulevard

[00:04:19] and Musahucka? Mas-ha-tuck? I can't say that. It's M-A-S-H-A-N-T-U-C-K-E-T, Connecticut. So if you're back east or if you want to go back east, that's happening. On July 6th, doors are going to open at 8 a.m. and the games are going to start at 1 p.m. So

[00:04:38] there's a little bit of a gap there too. If you want to buy tickets, you can get an option to pre-purchase all 52 games. That's including two warmups and all specials. So that's a lot of

[00:04:48] games that are going to be happening for that one day. There's actually a pre-check-in. That's starting from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Three hours early at any of the eight stations located in the Bingo Main entrance. So if you're familiar with that casino, which by the way here

[00:05:03] is the largest bingo hall in the country. I've never been there but I would really like to go sometime and check this out. For reference sake, this is not a cheap event. It is a lot of

[00:05:12] games. It is giving a lot of money away. The paper is going around $400 something like. Let me get the exact number for you. Okay so if you want to purchase tickets for this, you

[00:05:21] have to buy them through Ticketmaster and I'm looking at the fees for the paper package, which is a standard admission is what it's saying. It's $426.85. It says prices include fees before taxes so it could be even higher than that but basically for the paper package it's

[00:05:37] $426.85. Then for the tablet package, it's $837.70. So this is not a cheap event. I'm not quite sure. I looked. I couldn't find all the statistics of what you get for the tablet versus the paper but I would imagine you're getting an awful lot more cards playing

[00:05:55] than you would if you're just on the paper, which obviously makes sense. So anyway, so those are the prices for that event again. July 6th in Munson Tucket, Kentucky. M-A-S-H-A-N-T-U-C-K-E-T, Kentucky at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino. Coming up next is the big bucks spelled B-U-X

[00:06:18] bingo summer bash. Now that's happening July 13. This is happening in Houston, Texas and it's saying doors are going to open at 4. Sales begin at 4 30 and the session they're having three sessions by the way. The first session starts at 6. The second session starts at 7 30 and the

[00:06:34] third session starts at 8 30. The price for this is $100. Game payouts for three sessions are going to be 500, 1000, 600, 1100 and then 800, 1000. That's per session. I'm not quite sure how that breakdown goes exactly, but I do know that it says only 100 tickets will be

[00:06:54] sold. So if you're going to go and you're a non-ticket holder in advance, the computer price is going to be $30 and or it's going to be $2 per paper. Okay? So just kind of keep that

[00:07:04] in mind. So that's happening. Like I said, that's happening July 13th in Houston, Texas. Next up you have another one of my favorites. You're talking about South Points, $2 million extravaganza. Okay? This also is kind of a, it's like a two day but four day event because they

[00:07:20] do two days, they have a break and then they do another two days. So this is happening again at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first two day pairing is going to be July 18th

[00:07:31] and then July 19th. They'll take a break. They'll come back and then the second two days will be July 22nd and July 23rd. Now please be aware that this is again not a cheap event.

[00:07:43] The buy-in for this thing for two days is $495. Okay? So if you're going to do all four days, just double that because you don't get it for all four days. It's just two at a time.

[00:07:53] I will tell you right now that I went and I looked and it looks like the first session for two days is already sold out. That's the 18th and the 19th. If you go online,

[00:08:02] I don't think you can get tickets but much like I said about the Bosco Tech event, there's always a possibility somebody's going to cancel. The first time I attended one of

[00:08:10] these events, that's what happened. I put my name on a list and I was way down on the list and I still got in. So you might want to just go ahead if you want to do the 18th and 19th,

[00:08:19] just go ahead, call the hotel, put your name on the wait list because there is still that possibility and I think a very big possibility that a certain amount of people are going to cancel because that's a huge event. I think there are like 2000 people who attend that

[00:08:31] thing so the odds that somebody's going to cancel is pretty good if you are interested. If you don't care and you're just happy to go to the second one which I said is going

[00:08:38] to be the following week on Monday and Tuesday, it will be the 22nd and 23rd. There are still seats available for that event too so just letting you know that that's out there. Once again, it starts early in the morning with some warm up games. They play 10 warm

[00:08:54] up games that pay $11.99 and then they go into their regular games with the majority of them paying $20,000. Over the course of two days, you've got four games that pay $50,000, four games that pay $25,000 and then another four games that pay $10,000.

[00:09:11] That's a really popular event and that's coming up soon too. Now coming in at number five is going to be the H-Town Bingo Classic. That's happening on July 27th and that's being sponsored by Confessions of a Bingo Addicts, Tanya,

[00:09:27] as well as I Am Cash Officials Cash. That once again is happening in Houston, Texas and according to the description that's on Confessions of a Bingo Addict dot com's frequently asked questions about the event. The H-Town Bingo Classic is a way for all bingo

[00:09:42] players to attend a bingo festival of three days of straight bingo and pool tabs at a charitable bingo hall in Houston, Texas. That would be H-Town Bingo and like I said, I've

[00:09:52] gone to her other events. I did the Palooza earlier and that was so much fun. That's a few days too and it's just really a nice time to just play bingo and tons and tons of pool tab.

[00:10:04] If you're a pool tab fan, Houston is the place to go to play some pool tabs but in addition to the pool tabs this event is also going to have 15 $1,000 bingo games. Now the primary buy-in of

[00:10:16] $100 is going to be specifically for Saturday so what you're going to get for that is you're going to receive two computers with 66 cards in each as well as entry for a variety of giveaways during the event. Now just to reiterate that $100 is just for Saturday only.

[00:10:33] If you're going to go Friday and Sunday, the pricing for those days are the same as they are for regular bingo buy-in. Now on Tanya's website she also mentions that there are going

[00:10:41] to be food trucks available and I don't know if these are the same food trucks that she had or food truck that she had for the Palooza earlier in the year but that food truck was

[00:10:50] fantastic and I really liked it so I just want to throw that out there. If you have a chance to go eat some of their food please do because it was really really delicious. Moving on to number six, okay this is the long-awaited Bingo Rocks PA.

[00:11:08] I mean I've been waiting for this event and it's still not coming till September. The actual dates for this are going to be September 21st and 22nd. This is another event happening back east. It's actually going to take place at State Street Bingo which is 799

[00:11:22] State Street at Pottstown, Pennsylvania. I wish I had some more information on that. They do say more details are coming. I do know it is a two-day event. I think one of those events

[00:11:32] as I recall is going to be the pool tab tournament which I have not participated in one of those and one of these days I hopefully will get the chance to do that. You would think

[00:11:41] that they would have one of those in Texas but so far I haven't had that opportunity. This is an event that yet again I can't participate in. I have a pre-arranged plan so they're happening

[00:11:52] on the exact same date so I can't go but one of these days I absolutely want to be able to make it back there for this thing. This is Bingo Rocks PA 3.0 and I'm really hoping that

[00:12:02] I'll be able to make Bingo Rocks PA 4.0. That again is happening on the 21st and the 22nd of September. We're going back to Vegas for the seventh event. This is happening at the stations

[00:12:17] group. These are the station hotels that are in Las Vegas. There's about four or five of them and stuff that go across the Las Vegas Valley. This is a really interesting event. It's actually

[00:12:28] four days. It's going from October 26th through October 29th. It's four days but like I said it's going across three hotels but it's also split up by two portions. One portion is going to be paying out $100,000. That's the matinee. That's actually taking place on the 26th but interestingly

[00:12:46] enough it's not necessarily at the same hotels that are going to be taking place on the 28th. For the matinee again happening on the 26th you have to select between Boulder Station, Palace Station and Santa Fe. Whereas the actual event for the $400,000 payout is happening at

[00:13:03] Green Valley, Palace Station and Red Rock. The only hotel that actually has both is Palace Station so that seems kind of weird. You got to think about that because you also have to buy your

[00:13:12] bundle. When you're buying your bundle even though you're getting a bit of a deal for the hotel package there's actually a big difference between the price of each of these hotels. So for the Red Rock and for the Green Valley the hotel rates for those are $159 mid-week

[00:13:29] and then $229 over the weekend. In comparison for the Palace Station, Boulder Station and Santa Fe Station those rates are roughly $59 for the week and ranging between $99 to $139 for the weekend. Anyway there's a lot going on with this thing. If you go on their website

[00:13:48] and you look at it, you can google it. You can google for Station Casinos, Big Bingo 2024. They have a lot of drop downs that you can look at a variety of different ways that you can

[00:13:58] purchase this stuff because you also don't have to do the hotels if you don't want. If you're like me you've got family there you just go there or if you're a local obviously you can

[00:14:06] just go and buy either the matinee individually and or the two-day event individually. So there's a lot going on with the options that you have for this particular event so please go look and check out the prices on their actual website if you're interested. Now rounding out

[00:14:21] the eight and actually it's kind of a tie for eight. It's really interesting to me that there are two competing bingo cruises at the same time. So there's one that I think a lot of people

[00:14:31] have probably already seen which is the one that gets sponsored every year by Carnival Cruises and is affiliated with the Bingo Bugle. They do all the advertising for it. So this one is

[00:14:41] leaving out of New Orleans. It's leaving out of New Orleans and it's going to Montego Bay, the Grand Caymans and Cozy Mail. It's leaving on October 27th and coming back on November 3rd which interestingly enough are the exact same dates for the other cruise. I've seen it before

[00:14:59] where they've had this cruise but they've been kind of like usually off like a couple of days or something or just like overlapping one day so I just think it's really weird that

[00:15:06] people are having to actually make a choice because they have the exact same day. So that said, the other cruise line that is leaving on those dates is being sponsored by Norwegian

[00:15:16] Cruise Line and it's leaving out of New York and is going to Bermuda. Okay now they don't have any other information listed. It's just New York to Bermuda. It looks like you're going to be there for the whole seven days. I honestly couldn't find any additional information

[00:15:30] but what I do think is funny is that both these cruises call themselves the World Championship Bingo Tournament and Gaming Cruise. I don't know how there can be two at the same time. Those people don't face off from each other or whatever but I've always thought that

[00:15:43] that was very funny and they keep doing it so I don't know if there's any kind of legal issues with that happening but just to let you know that you do have two choices if you

[00:15:51] want to do a cruise and you want to play bingo. All right, that rounds out the eight that I have coming up. There's so much bingo going on in this country and it just gets to

[00:15:59] be more and more every year so I try to give you some information that I hope is helpful and I hope will bring you back to listen to the next episode of The Broke Bingo Attic. In the meantime, thanks.
