Check Out Some Bingo Events Going On

Send us Fan Mail

In addition to playing bingo on a regular basis, there are also special events occurring throughout the year. In July alone, there are some notable ones happening. Included among them is one at the Foxwoods Resort in Connecticut, as well as Winners in Stockton and South Point in Las Vegas. Checkout details about those and others in this episode.

[00:00:07] I know I've talked a lot about the abundance of bingo that's going on in this country. It's like I've said a million times, like every day there's a new bingo hall opening up.

[00:00:36] And that's wonderful. That's a fact. There is so much bingo going on. I actually took a minute and I was looking through the available bingo bugles that are out there across the country. So looking at Ohio and looking at Florida and looking at, you know, all the various states that have that information available. And just flipping through those pages just again to see how much bingo is actually out there. But that surprisingly is not what I want to talk about today.

[00:01:06] What I want to talk about today is one of my favorite things, which is the events that are happening. Special events. OK, I know they always have little things like celebrating Mother's Day or Halloween or, you know, even Christmas. But I'm talking about the special events that happen in various parts of the country. There happens to be a lot on the West Coast. In fact, one of my favorite bingo halls, Bosco Tech, is going to have their summer shakeup in a couple of weeks.

[00:01:32] It's actually being called Back to the 80s. So there's actually a theme going on with that. But that's happening on June 21st and June 22nd. So it's a two-day event. Although, to be clear, the first day is really the major event. That's when most of the excitement is going to happen on the first day event. But you can go to both and have a really good time. Bosco Tech likes to do it. And Paul is a really good manager.

[00:01:58] And he really does everything he can to make sure that people get the biggest bang for their buck. And speaking of bucks, so for the first day, it's $130 buy-in for Saturday, June 21st. And it's $70 for just Sunday. Now, if you buy them both, I think you get a $20 discount on that. Yeah, so you save $20 if you buy both days. But anyway, it's a lot of fun out there. And it's another one of those where a lot of people come from a lot of different places.

[00:02:26] So if you like bingo influencers and you like to see a lot of the people that you may or may not listen to on TikTok or YouTube or whatever, this is kind of an event to go to see a lot of those people. And again, just to have a generally good time because, yeah, Paul really does it up. But be prepared to spend the whole day there because the odds of you getting out of there before 11 p.m. are slim to none, okay? So just giving you fair warning that it's an entire day of having an awful lot of fun. And I personally am really looking forward to it.

[00:02:56] Now, there are a few other events that are happening in the next few months on the West Coast. But because I'm trying to do this in chronological order, we're going to bounce it all the way to the East Coast and check out Foxwood. The actual address is 350 Trolley Lane Boulevard in Mansatucket, M-A-S-H-A-N-T-U-C-K-E-T, Connecticut. Okay, I hope that's Mansa. Anyway, that's where it's happening.

[00:03:24] And this is something that they're calling their Firecracker High Stakes Bingo. And it's taking place on July 5th. Now, I'm going to give you some of the details. First of all, being that the doors open at 8 o'clock and the games start at 1 o'clock. This is going to be a half a million dollar in prize payouts. You can buy your tickets in advance or packages that are going on. You have a couple of options there. You've got up until July 4th to do the advanced purchase, which is 12 regular cards.

[00:03:54] You have an option to pre-purchase all 52 games, okay? So, first of all, 52 games. That's not too shabby. That includes two warm-ups and all specials. All paper will be received upon check-in. So, no additional lines when you get there. So, you don't have to worry about that. There's an additional quick pick. You pick them that you can get. Now, you can check in up to three hours early on any of the eight stations located in the Bingo main entrance, okay? So, I'm assuming people know what that is. I'm not familiar with this location.

[00:04:23] I'm dying to go there one of these days, but I don't know. So, I guess there are eight different stations where you can pay for this and starting from 6 a.m. the day of the event. Now, that's for people who want to pay in early. Now, for day of, sales begin at 9 o'clock and the purchaser will receive nine cards for regular games with the option to purchase extras. Extra paper will only be offered inside the Bingo Hall. So, I don't understand all the logistics of that. I'm just giving you the basic information. Hopefully, that's helpful.

[00:04:52] Now, as for the games themselves, they're going to start out with 10 warm-up games, and those pay ranging from $200 to $500. Then, they're going to go into a couple of specials, which again, range from like $1,000 to $5,000. And most of the games, it looks like, are going to be paying $15,000. Now, as for the prices on this, I'm going to tell you what I'm seeing here. The paper package, which is the standard admission, which is what I mentioned earlier, is $431.70.

[00:05:21] I don't know why it's an odd number like that. If you get a tablet, the tablet is a lot more. Tablet is double that. So, again, that's $842.60. And then there's something called the Mega Bundle Add-On, which is $120.70. So, again, I'm not familiar with this place, so I wish I could give you some more information with regard to what that all means. But those are the basic prices. And also, keep in mind, this also has a hotel. This is a resort. So, if you want to stay there, you could also stay there, too.

[00:05:51] They offer hotel rooms stuck to be, let's see, $139.99. I don't know what's with the odd stuff. That's so strange to me. That does not include taxes and fees. So, that could absolutely go up significantly. But anyway, at least you have the option. If you want to, you can also stay there. So, this is the information for Connecticut. This is the Foxwoods Resort Casino. I wish I had more information on that one. I'm just not as familiar with it.

[00:06:20] But that's happening on July 5th, which, by the way, is my sister's birthday. So, anyway, that's some information for you. Moving on to the next one. A little closer to home, on July 12th, Winners in Stockton, California, is having something called the Great Bets 37th Year Anniversary. So, I don't know if that's the couple. I don't know how that relates to anything. I'm sorry to say. But it doesn't matter because I'm going anyway. Okay? So, they're having that. Like I said, it's a Saturday. It's July 12th.

[00:06:49] It starts at 5 p.m. And you can actually call them to make reservations to go there, which is what I've done before. But you can also buy it on Bingo Me Now Plus. They have the app that you can go there and you can pick out your seat, which, by the way, I did this time. It was a little confusing for me the first time. But I was able to figure it out this time. So, yay me! So, what they have when you go online, they have three different price points. So, you can buy your basic package of everything, which includes some paper and some strips.

[00:07:19] I don't actually remember how and I can't find it. But it starts at like $150, right? So, that's your basic buy-in that you're going to get online. It goes from $150 to $250 to $350. To be honest, what I'm going to do is I'm going to feel it out. I got the $150 right now just to keep a little cash in my pocket. And then when I get up there, I'll probably max out to go to the $350 one. And obviously, they have a lot of pull tabs, too. That's just the basic buy-in that you get, which, again, also you could buy some pull tabs that they have available online, too.

[00:07:47] I bought some of those to just make sure I had some because you don't want to get up there. And then they pull out the ones that are popular, and they've already been sold out online. So, you want to be in that group that already bought them online. But trust me, I did this event last year. I had a really good time. And for the first time, I actually won some money. I didn't win a lot. I won $600. But, hey, I was thrilled. I'd been there once before, and I didn't want a dime. So, it was exciting. Although, I will say that I was sitting next to Sassy Sonia, and that girl wins.

[00:08:14] I mean, she just kept winning. So, it was hilarious. I always like to see people win because that's almost as much fun as winning yourself. Not as much, but almost as much as winning yourself. So, that was really nice. A lot of people come to that event. If you like to see the various bingo influencers, there seems to be a lot of them that come up there. So, that's a fun time. And in case I haven't mentioned it, all the bingo games, forget the pull tabs, all of the bingo games are paying $5,000.

[00:08:42] But they're also going to have something called the Broadway Strip that is paying $10,000. So, just FYI, this is a very large motivation for me to go up there. And similar to Vegas, one of the things I like about this location is they also have a bar. They have a bar and they have a snack bar. So, if you want to drink while you're sitting there playing, you can get a drink. There is food there that you can order. I do recall, though, I think it ended a little earlier than I thought it would.

[00:09:11] So, if you're worried about food, please pay attention to the time that the snack bar closes. It was pretty decent food. It was nice. I enjoyed that. But, again, I wanted something later in the day and it was just too late for me to get it. So, please pay attention to that. Obviously, you can always bring your own food with you. Many people do. They always have free coffee available for you also. So, that's something that I'm looking forward to. That's going to come up pretty quickly. That's going to be, like I said, on July 12th.

[00:09:38] But, after that, there's going to be one of the most popular things out there, which is going to be the South Point event happening in Las Vegas. Now, that's going to be happening over the course of four days. The first two days are going to be July 17th and 18th. And then it's going to take a break and it's going to be July 21st and 22nd. Now, I know a lot of people are really familiar with this event. It's very popular. They not only have this one in July, but they also have it in March. And then they're going to have another one in November.

[00:10:05] And like I said, I'm going up to Stockton for the July 12th. So, I'm not going to be attending this one. But I will be going in November. So, I'm going to give you the basic details for this particular one for those of you who are not aware. Because it's all pretty much the same. The buy-in for this event is $495. But keep in mind, that's the buy-in for two days. And as I said, that's a four-day event. So, if you want to do all four days, you're going to have to pay $495 for the first two days.

[00:10:33] So, you're going to have to pay $495 for the second two days. Okay? So, roughly, you're paying $1,000 to participate in this event, which is a good event. These games pay $20,000 for the majority of these events. And on any given day, they're playing roughly 30, 40 games. Okay? I know they start out with 10 warm-ups. All right? The warm-ups start at noon. And those pay $1,199, which, again, is nothing to sneeze about.

[00:11:00] And then after that, after they have those warm-ups, then they're going to go into their regular games. And the game's $11,000 through $34,000. Actually, in that mix, you're going to have a majority of $20,000 games. Then you're going to have two $50,000 games, two $25,000 second chance, and two $10,000 third chance. Now, that's each day. So, for the first day and the second day. So, just double that up if you want. Okay?

[00:11:28] I'm just saying, that's an awful lot of bingo and an awful lot of opportunities to get $20,000, if not $50,000. But the thing is, there is also a lot of people at this event. So, those of you who've gone know that this room holds about 2,000 people. And it pretty much sells out every doggone time. So, even though there is a lot of opportunity, there are an awful lot of people trying to go for that same amount of money. So, you have to keep that in mind. For me, it's just about going, seeing a lot of people, and having a really good time.

[00:11:58] Because not only do you see all these people coming in from all different parts of the country, sometimes people from different countries are there. So, it's just kind of a really cool opportunity to get out and meet a lot of different people from a lot of different places. But what's also cool is this particular hotel has a nice hotel package where you can stay for three nights for only $100. If you pay for the first night, it's $100. And then the next two nights are free. So, that's a really cool opportunity, too, to just be there and stay in the hotel

[00:12:26] and play bingo, hang out. They give you a nice food package. You get a couple of, I think it's like almost $50 worth of food. You get a couple of coupons or whatever that you could use in locations throughout the casino. So, that's nice. You can get some food. And by the way, I love this, too. For anybody who needs a scooter, this is the number one scooter hotel in America. I've never seen so many scooters in my life. So, clearly, they rent them.

[00:12:53] And if you want, you can absolutely call them to find out what the statistics are or what the requirements are to rent one because it's also a really big hotel. I get so tired. I feel like I lose a lot of weight there walking from one place to another. So, a couple of times I've thought about renting one of those little scooters because the place is so big. But it is amazing when you see how many scooters are actually running around that hotel. Now, those are some of the things that are happening in this current month of July.

[00:13:20] But there are definitely some other things coming up that I think people will also be interested in. Now, the first thing that I saw was the Boyd Casinos. That's like the group with the South Coast, Suncoast, and Samstown. This is also in Las Vegas. They're having a half-million-dollar event in August, to be exact, as August 25th and August 26th. That's a Monday and a Tuesday. And the buy-in is $345, which seems fairly reasonable.

[00:13:49] That's an entry into the fun-filled two-day bingo event with all games paying $10,000 with three chances on the cover-off. So, the first chance is $50,000, second chance is $20,000, and third chance is $10,000, similar to South Point. You're going to get food vouchers, and you're also going to get a dauber. But they also have a souvenir. I didn't get a souvenir at South Point. They also have the same situation, too, where you get a special room package.

[00:14:15] So, if you get a hotel room for Sunday night, they also get you Monday and Tuesday night for free. So, it seems like this has changed the way they've usually done stuff in the past to make it mirror what's going on at South Point, which, again, has been very successful. So, I'm not sure. I haven't played at this one before, but it looks pretty reasonable. I think for $345 for the two nights, not too bad.

[00:14:42] Again, it is $10,000 as opposed to $20,000 over at South Point, but it's not like I'm going to argue the point. I absolutely would love $10,000. Now, as for their packages for their computers, what they have is if you buy six packs, you'll get three free for a value of $225 for just $150. They have another one where if you buy 12 packs, you get six free for a value of $450 by just paying $300. They also have you can buy 25 packs.

[00:15:12] You'll get 15 free. Now, that's a $1,000 value for only $625. And lastly, if you buy 50 packs, you'll get 30 free. Well, that sounds real good. That's a value of $2,000 by only paying $1,250. So, that seems like a really pretty good deal. So, anyway, they do have a total of 30 games each day with the first 10, looks like, are warm-ups paying $1,000.

[00:15:41] Then it goes into the $10,000 games. And then, again, at the end, similar to South Point, they have the $50,000, the $20,000, and the $10,000 game. So, you get that on both days. So, that's not too shabby. Again, I haven't done that, but I actually think I have to look into playing that sometime. Seems like a pretty good deal. Not to be outdone, the Stations Casino are going to have an event in October. Okay? It's a four-day event. It's going to be from October 25th through October 28th.

[00:16:10] It's a $400,000 blockbuster. They're calling it the $400,000 blockbuster October 2025. Now, when I first started going to these events, that's where I would go to. I would go to the Sunset Station or one of the other station locations and play in a couple of these little tournaments. But in all honesty, I haven't played in one of these for a while. This particular event is going to take place in three of their locations. It's going to be at Green Valley Ranch. It's going to be at Palace Station.

[00:16:39] And it's also going to be at Red Rock. Okay? So, they have other locations. Like, they also have Palace. They have Sunset. But whenever they do these events, they don't necessarily have them participating in all of the locations. I will say that what happens, though, as I recall, because I actually can't find a lot of information about this. But as I recall, for part of the events, when you're playing bingo, all of the stations or all of the hotels are playing at the same time. So, just be aware that that kind of increases your competition.

[00:17:08] You look around the room and you might say, oh, it's not so bad. But there's a certain percentage of these games that usually are played across all of the hotels. So, again, that's how it was before. I don't honestly know if that's going to be the case here because I couldn't find more information. But anyway, that said, they also do have hotel packages. They have some discounted rates. Looks like the best place to stay is the Palace.

[00:17:31] The rate is $59 for the week and $149 midweek, as opposed to Green Valley Station, which looks like it's pretty much $299 no matter how you look at it. So, definitely cheaper to stay at Palace Station. They've got some other hotels available, too. They're inexpensive. But it doesn't look like the event is happening at those locations. So, why stay there if you can just stay at the hotel where you're going to be playing bingo at? So, anyway, those are a couple of the other things that are going on in the upcoming months

[00:17:59] with regards to specific bingo events as opposed to just regular bingo that's happening. So, if you're interested, you know, please call some of these locations, get some more information, and go enjoy yourself. Win some big money, and hopefully I'll see you there. Okay? But in the meantime, thank you so much for listening to this week's episode of The Broke Bingo Addict. I hope I gave you some useful information, and I hope you'll come back to listen to our next episode. But in the meantime, thanks so much. Bye.

[00:18:29] It's not a game. It's a rage day. Bye. Bye. Bye.
