[00:00:08] Hello and welcome to the Broke Bingo Addict.

[00:00:12] This is a podcast that ventures through the wild and crazy world of bingo.

[00:00:16] This is much more than your grandmother's bingo.

[00:00:20] My name's Shari, and welcome to this week's episode, which as always is for entertainment

[00:00:25] purposes only.

[00:00:27] Hi everybody, and welcome to this week's episode of the Broke Bingo Addict.

[00:00:32] You know I was thinking there's so much stuff going on right now.

[00:00:36] We're at the end of the year, we're getting ready for the holidays, we're gonna have Halloween,

[00:00:40] we're gonna have Thanksgiving, all that stuff.

[00:00:42] It's gonna be a very hectic hectic end of the season.

[00:00:46] One of my favorite times of the year, and I think one of the favorite times for a

[00:00:49] lot of people, but not only is there a lot going on just basic holidays across

[00:00:54] the world, there's a lot going on in bingo.

[00:00:57] So that's what this week's episode is all about.

[00:01:00] We're gonna talk about some of the events that are coming up.

[00:01:03] I'm gonna try to do them in order.

[00:01:05] We're talking about events that are starting in October and I'm gonna go all the way

[00:01:09] to the beginning of December.

[00:01:12] So we're gonna start out with AJs.

[00:01:15] This is Bingo with AJs, San Diego Roundup.

[00:01:19] Now that's gonna happen pretty soon.

[00:01:21] That's happening October 11th and the 12th.

[00:01:26] The 11th is a Friday and that's gonna be at I-35 Bingo.

[00:01:30] The address is 6830 North Interstate 35 San Antonio, Texas.

[00:01:36] Just in case you wanted, the zip is 78218.

[00:01:39] Now it's gonna be a triple session.

[00:01:41] Doors are gonna open at 5 p.m., games are gonna start at 7.

[00:01:45] Now it says Paper Hall, 8 or 18 on 7 per session.

[00:01:49] Gotta say I'm not sure what that means but just FYI.

[00:01:53] The following day, the 12th is Saturday.

[00:01:55] Now that's gonna be at Magic Bingo.

[00:01:57] The address there is 8373 Calabra C-U-L-E-B-R-A Road.

[00:02:04] Number 301, again San Antonio, Texas.

[00:02:07] The doors are gonna open at 4.

[00:02:09] It's 10 Cent Bingo Early Birds at 6.15.

[00:02:13] I love that.

[00:02:15] 10 Cent Bingo, that's hilarious.

[00:02:16] Okay, the first session is gonna start at 7 p.m.

[00:02:20] and the third session is gonna be at 8.30.

[00:02:23] Paper per session is $4.

[00:02:25] You get fully loaded computers, $12 per session.

[00:02:30] Now if you wanna buy in, I recommend going to AJ's link

[00:02:34] in his bio at TikTok.

[00:02:36] He's Bingo with AJ on TikTok

[00:02:38] and you can go ahead and click on the link

[00:02:40] to buy in for that event or get more information.

[00:02:42] So that's the first thing that's coming up.

[00:02:45] Then on October 19th,

[00:02:47] you've got Foxwood's Resort & Casino back East.

[00:02:50] They've got their October Fest High Stakes Bingo.

[00:02:55] Okay?

[00:02:56] Yeah, that's high stakes.

[00:02:58] I was looking on their website back in July,

[00:03:01] I think it was, let me say back in July,

[00:03:04] July 6th to be exact, somebody there won a million dollars.

[00:03:09] Okay, can you freaking imagine a million dollars

[00:03:12] playing Bingo?

[00:03:13] I'm gonna have to go back East and check that stuff out.

[00:03:16] But anyway, like I said,

[00:03:18] they've got their October Fest Bingo

[00:03:20] on the 19th of October.

[00:03:23] You're not gonna have an opportunity

[00:03:25] to win that $1 million,

[00:03:26] but you do have the opportunity

[00:03:28] to win your share of $300,000.

[00:03:31] If you go to their website,

[00:03:33] you know, the Foxwood's Resort & Casino,

[00:03:36] you can go ahead and buy your tickets online.

[00:03:38] You can get advanced purchases

[00:03:39] from now through October 18th.

[00:03:42] Okay, for more chances to win.

[00:03:44] I don't know what that's about.

[00:03:45] But anyway, you're gonna get 12 regular cards.

[00:03:47] You're gonna have the option to pre-purchase all 41 games,

[00:03:50] including two warmups and all special.

[00:03:53] All paper will be received upon check

[00:03:55] and no additional lines.

[00:03:57] Okay, so I guess there are gonna be

[00:03:58] a few other things too.

[00:03:59] The advanced paper, by the way, is $250.

[00:04:02] And if you do the video, it's $500.

[00:04:05] The day of sales begin at 9 a.m.

[00:04:08] at the Rainmaker Expo Center Lobby.

[00:04:11] Now doors are gonna open at 6 a.m.

[00:04:14] Warmups are gonna begin at 11 30 a.m.

[00:04:16] and the actual games are gonna start at 1 p.m.

[00:04:20] So there's a lot of information

[00:04:21] about all the stuff that's going on on their website,

[00:04:23] like I said.

[00:04:23] So definitely if you wanna go check that out,

[00:04:26] please go to the website, get some more information.

[00:04:28] Moving on to my hometown,

[00:04:30] you have the Lovely Stations Casino.

[00:04:33] Okay, October 28th and 29th,

[00:04:35] they're gonna have an event.

[00:04:36] It's the $400,000 Blackbuster.

[00:04:39] Not only can you buy in for the two days of the event,

[00:04:42] you can also get a hotel packages.

[00:04:44] This is gonna be held between

[00:04:46] the Stations Casinos Green Valley Ranch,

[00:04:49] Palace Station and Red Rock.

[00:04:51] And again, each one of those have hotel packages

[00:04:54] that go along with the event,

[00:04:55] but I will tell you right now,

[00:04:56] each of those hotel packages could be a little different,

[00:04:59] but I mean there's definitely a price difference

[00:05:02] between buying that package at Green Valley

[00:05:04] and buying that package at Palace Station.

[00:05:06] So if you go to their website too,

[00:05:08] if you go to Stations Casinos,

[00:05:09] like I said, they're gonna have some more information.

[00:05:11] You can click on the little bundle

[00:05:13] to find out what that is.

[00:05:15] But basically the hotel rates for Red Rock starts at $159,

[00:05:21] while it's $59 if you're at the Palace Station.

[00:05:24] So definitely a difference in price there.

[00:05:28] Otherwise there's not an awful lot of information

[00:05:29] about this event online,

[00:05:31] but if you do wanna buy the tickets,

[00:05:33] you can go to their website.

[00:05:34] I think there's a number to call

[00:05:35] and you can certainly purchase your bundle

[00:05:37] and or just your regular tickets on their site.

[00:05:40] Okay, so again that Stations Casino

[00:05:42] that has that information for that event

[00:05:44] happening in late October.

[00:05:47] Around that same time, there's actually a cruise going on.

[00:05:51] I know before we've mentioned the cruise

[00:05:53] that happens on Carnival Cruise,

[00:05:55] but there's also the cruise

[00:05:56] that this year is going to be on Norwegian.

[00:06:00] I hope I say that right, Norwegian cruise line.

[00:06:04] They're gonna be traveling from New York to the Bahamas.

[00:06:07] It's leaving October 27th and it goes to November 3rd.

[00:06:11] Now basically that's pretty much it.

[00:06:12] They just go to the Bahamas,

[00:06:13] they stay at that little range of islands right there.

[00:06:17] So again, leaving from New York and going down there.

[00:06:20] But it is again called the World Championship

[00:06:22] Bingo Tournament and Gaming Cruise.

[00:06:25] They have a lovely little website.

[00:06:27] If you just type that in just online

[00:06:29] and you say Norwegian Bingo Cruise,

[00:06:32] that information will come up for you.

[00:06:34] And there's a lot of things.

[00:06:35] There's a lot of information on that

[00:06:38] because obviously there's a variety of things

[00:06:40] you can get depending on what you want.

[00:06:41] So in addition to obviously the cruise,

[00:06:43] there's the package for the bingo.

[00:06:45] You can make reservations and decide

[00:06:47] how much you wanna spend,

[00:06:48] whether you wanna be on a balcony,

[00:06:50] whether you wanna be an indoor or whatnot.

[00:06:52] But anyway, so there is that information

[00:06:54] for something that combines my two favorite things

[00:06:57] in the world, which is cruising and bingo.

[00:07:00] So it's surprising that I haven't gone

[00:07:02] on a bingo cruise at this point, but I will.

[00:07:05] Now the other cruise, and I think probably

[00:07:07] a lot more well known is the one that's happening

[00:07:10] on Carnival Cruise lines because it's publicized

[00:07:14] all over the place in the bingo bugle.

[00:07:16] It is by the way, just for reference sake,

[00:07:18] if you haven't bought it already,

[00:07:19] it is sold out already.

[00:07:21] But it is going on the exact same dates.

[00:07:23] It's going from October 27th through November 3rd.

[00:07:26] And I've mentioned before they used to have it

[00:07:28] where the dates weren't quite so close together.

[00:07:30] Like they're like kind of like buttresses each other.

[00:07:32] So if you wanted to, you could do one,

[00:07:34] get off on a plane and go to the other one.

[00:07:36] I think that's when it was on Royal Caribbean.

[00:07:38] But these days are the exact same days.

[00:07:40] This one again is gonna be leaving,

[00:07:44] I think it leaves out of Florida.

[00:07:46] And it goes to Montego Bay in Jamaica.

[00:07:49] It goes to the Grand Caymans.

[00:07:50] It goes to Cozy Mail.

[00:07:52] No, it's selling, I'm sorry, I forgive me.

[00:07:54] It's sailing from New Orleans, okay?

[00:07:56] So that's different, that'll be fun.

[00:07:58] And like I said, these are a lot of fun

[00:08:00] because you get to do both things.

[00:08:01] You get to play bingo and you get to cruise

[00:08:04] at the same time.

[00:08:05] And how much you wanna spend is on you

[00:08:07] because it's whether you wanna get an indoor cabin

[00:08:11] or whether you wanna get a balcony

[00:08:12] or how much you wanna spend on something like that,

[00:08:15] obviously your choice.

[00:08:17] But this is going on its 35th year

[00:08:19] for this particular cruise.

[00:08:21] And it'll definitely be happening next year.

[00:08:24] If you haven't made it in time to do this one,

[00:08:26] they'll be doing it next year.

[00:08:27] So you just have to decide whether you wanna do

[00:08:29] the one on Carnival,

[00:08:30] if you wanna do the one on Norwegian

[00:08:32] or if somebody else does it next year.

[00:08:34] But again, both classified themselves

[00:08:37] as world championships of bingo.

[00:08:40] Moving on to November, we have the wildly popular,

[00:08:44] at least for those of us out here on the West Coast,

[00:08:47] the wildly popular South Point Extravaganza

[00:08:51] in Las Vegas, Nevada.

[00:08:52] Okay, again, my hometown.

[00:08:54] So I'm really quite fond of this.

[00:08:55] This is the $2 million puppy.

[00:08:57] All right, it's over the course of four days.

[00:08:59] You're gonna have November 4th and 5th,

[00:09:02] which by the way, I'm kind of surprised about the 5th.

[00:09:06] That's election day.

[00:09:07] So I'm really surprised that they're having that event

[00:09:10] on that particular day

[00:09:11] in this highly contested election time

[00:09:14] where I personally, yeah, I'm not doing the 4th and 5th.

[00:09:17] I'm gonna be someplace for the next president

[00:09:20] of the United States.

[00:09:20] Not gonna say who that is, but if you know me,

[00:09:23] you know.

[00:09:25] Anyway, the 4th and 5th,

[00:09:26] and then they have a little break as usual.

[00:09:28] And then it's the 8th and the 9th.

[00:09:30] If I go, it's definitely gonna be on the 8th and 9th.

[00:09:33] The 7th is my birthday.

[00:09:34] So assuming that the person that I wanna win the election

[00:09:37] on the 5th wins,

[00:09:38] it's gonna be particularly exciting

[00:09:39] to be out there on the 7th play,

[00:09:42] or excuse me, to be out there on the 8th

[00:09:44] playing bingo and hopefully winning.

[00:09:46] So for those of you who know,

[00:09:48] obviously you can go onto the South Point Hotels website

[00:09:52] and get a lot of information.

[00:09:53] They have the whole seating chart up there

[00:09:56] so you can kind of see where you wanna sit.

[00:09:58] That event holds a massive amount of people.

[00:10:01] It holds, I think it's like over 2,000 people

[00:10:03] and it's packed.

[00:10:04] And I think they have it down to an art form.

[00:10:06] It's really, really well managed.

[00:10:08] They have it for this event that if you buy it,

[00:10:10] particularly if you buy the hotel package,

[00:10:12] which by the way, I didn't mention,

[00:10:13] they have a hotel package

[00:10:14] that you can pay for three days

[00:10:17] and they only charge you for one.

[00:10:19] So that's each one.

[00:10:20] Like I said, there's two separate events.

[00:10:22] There's two days on the 4th and the 5th

[00:10:25] and there's another two days on the 8th and the 9th.

[00:10:27] So you'd have to buy two separate hotel package.

[00:10:29] I think, I don't know if they do a thing

[00:10:30] where they stretch the whole thing out,

[00:10:32] which actually I think that they would do

[00:10:33] something like that.

[00:10:34] But regardless, if you do it,

[00:10:36] my recommendation as I have learned

[00:10:38] from having attended this event

[00:10:40] is to go to the hotel the day before

[00:10:43] and then they're gonna give you the opportunity

[00:10:45] to buy all your packs the day before the event.

[00:10:50] And I can't stress upon you enough

[00:10:53] how much you're gonna appreciate

[00:10:55] getting your packs the day before.

[00:10:57] Because if you don't buy your packs the day before,

[00:10:59] that means you're gonna have to get up

[00:11:00] the morning of stand in line

[00:11:03] with a bunch of other people and do that.

[00:11:05] And it's just not worth it, okay?

[00:11:07] It's just so much nicer to know

[00:11:09] that you can go down to the event

[00:11:11] just before it's gonna start.

[00:11:12] You've got all your stuff.

[00:11:13] You don't have to worry about it.

[00:11:14] You can go down before it starts.

[00:11:16] I think the call time is 11 o'clock.

[00:11:18] They have some kind of drawings and stuff

[00:11:19] so they like you to be there at 11 o'clock.

[00:11:21] The actual warmups start at noon.

[00:11:24] But again, if you haven't bought everything ahead of time

[00:11:26] that means you have to get up way early

[00:11:28] to get in that long line.

[00:11:29] So you're not rushing at the last minute

[00:11:31] trying to get everything done.

[00:11:33] You can grab yourself some coffee.

[00:11:35] You can get yourself pastries

[00:11:37] because they usually have that.

[00:11:38] You can go check out.

[00:11:39] They have a bingo centric store

[00:11:41] that usually gets set up over there.

[00:11:43] That has a lot of fun bingo novelties,

[00:11:46] T-shirts, pens, clappers, whatever you want over there

[00:11:48] that you can buy.

[00:11:49] So it makes a lot easier for you and a lot more enjoyable

[00:11:52] if you just take the time to run over there

[00:11:54] the day before and get all your stuff.

[00:11:58] Please note though, definitely know this.

[00:11:59] It stops at a certain time.

[00:12:01] So when you check into the hotel

[00:12:02] they're gonna give you a letter

[00:12:05] that breaks down what the timeframe is

[00:12:08] for you to go buy your stuff.

[00:12:09] So pay attention to that and actually go earlier

[00:12:11] because I've been there when it stopped even earlier

[00:12:13] because they had so many people

[00:12:15] they had to stop earlier

[00:12:17] than the official closing was supposed to be.

[00:12:20] So pay attention to that.

[00:12:22] Also by the way, neglected to mention

[00:12:24] it is $495 to buy into this puppy.

[00:12:28] That's for each of those four days.

[00:12:30] So if you do it all four days

[00:12:32] that's for all the intents and purposes, $1,000.

[00:12:36] So just letting you know

[00:12:37] I will not be doing all four days.

[00:12:41] But I am absolutely looking forward to it

[00:12:43] because they give you some food vouchers.

[00:12:46] It's just a fun place.

[00:12:47] It's my favorite tournament to do

[00:12:49] even though the odds of winning are pretty slim.

[00:12:52] I actually have won one time last year

[00:12:55] so I'm hoping that I will relive that experience this time.

[00:13:00] I also wanna be sure to point out

[00:13:02] that this is a long day, okay?

[00:13:04] This is a very long day.

[00:13:05] Like I said, if you haven't bought your packs

[00:13:06] already you're gonna have to go there early

[00:13:08] like eight or nine to get in line to buy your packs

[00:13:10] and then the warmups they want you there

[00:13:12] for 11 o'clock as I said

[00:13:14] but it actually starts at 12.

[00:13:16] And then it typically goes to about four o'clock,

[00:13:19] four or five o'clock, okay?

[00:13:21] So you've been there for a few hours

[00:13:23] but what happens is they also have something

[00:13:26] called the super sessions, all right?

[00:13:28] This is no pre-advanced buy or anything.

[00:13:30] This is something they have every night

[00:13:32] while they're having this particular event

[00:13:33] and people have a tendency

[00:13:35] or I would imagine most bingo players

[00:13:36] have a tendency to also play in that event.

[00:13:39] Now while the earlier one

[00:13:41] the main event is paying $20,000 per game

[00:13:45] with a $50,000 cover all

[00:13:47] and I think there's a 25,000 second chance.

[00:13:50] The super session is paying 11.99.

[00:13:53] They also have a $5,000, I think it's a $5,000

[00:13:56] or a $10,000 double action game

[00:13:59] but what's really cool about that double action game

[00:14:03] if you know, you know

[00:14:05] is the fact that that double action

[00:14:07] is a progressive double action

[00:14:09] and people win tens of thousands of dollars on that one.

[00:14:14] I know there are a couple of times

[00:14:15] that I've heard about it.

[00:14:16] Somebody at one time,

[00:14:17] I think won like over $80,000

[00:14:20] recently in this past year

[00:14:22] somebody won over $100,000 on that.

[00:14:25] So trust me, a lot of the people

[00:14:27] who are playing bingo in the afternoon

[00:14:29] for the main event

[00:14:29] are definitely gonna be there for the night event too

[00:14:32] and you only have a little bit of a break.

[00:14:33] Like I said, the earlier event gets out

[00:14:35] about four or five, some are around there

[00:14:38] but then the later event, you have time to go eat.

[00:14:41] The doors are gonna open for that.

[00:14:43] I think it's six o'clock and the event starts at eight

[00:14:46] but then it's gonna go to about 10 or so.

[00:14:49] So that's a long day.

[00:14:50] You've been there from roughly 11 o'clock

[00:14:52] in the morning to 10 o'clock at night.

[00:14:54] So people have a tendency to bring food with them

[00:14:56] even though they have a cafeteria there.

[00:14:58] I'm not a cafeteria.

[00:14:59] Like a snack bar or something there.

[00:15:01] You can buy food there

[00:15:02] but just a lot of times

[00:15:03] you don't wanna get up or whatnot.

[00:15:04] So be sure to bring a few snacks with you or not.

[00:15:07] They always walk around with drinks

[00:15:09] so you don't have to really worry about that.

[00:15:11] I'm just saying, it's a long day.

[00:15:13] It's a fun day but it's a long day.

[00:15:16] So you kind of wanna be prepared for that.

[00:15:19] Also in November, Bingo World

[00:15:21] which is in Baltimore, Maryland.

[00:15:24] Okay, so we've gone back to the East Coast

[00:15:25] is having their Bingo World Fall Classic.

[00:15:28] That's gonna fall on November 2nd.

[00:15:31] That's a Saturday.

[00:15:32] According to their website

[00:15:34] there's gonna be more than $200,000 in play

[00:15:37] over $110,000 guaranteed.

[00:15:40] Okay, they're also gonna have a $50,000

[00:15:43] super spend block of nine and either or.

[00:15:46] There are five $15,000 guaranteed games

[00:15:50] as well as some $500 early games

[00:15:52] and some $1,000 party games.

[00:15:55] There's also an all-inclusive admission pack of $200

[00:15:59] that's gonna have 27 paper card, paper games and jackpot.

[00:16:03] So there's a whole bunch of information on their website

[00:16:06] too if you wanna go check that out,

[00:16:08] a variety of things that they're gonna have playing.

[00:16:10] So like I said, that is the Bingo World Fall Classic

[00:16:13] on November 2nd.

[00:16:15] Okay, last but not least,

[00:16:17] you're gonna have the Gold Coast Stations

[00:16:19] or Boyd Gaming is what they call that

[00:16:23] happening in Las Vegas.

[00:16:24] They have a set of five of these events that they have

[00:16:26] these two days events

[00:16:27] that are held on a Monday and a Tuesday.

[00:16:30] The next one's gonna be happening

[00:16:31] on December 2nd and December 3rd.

[00:16:34] They call this their $500,000 Power Bingo Series

[00:16:40] and says reserve your spot.

[00:16:42] The entry fee is $345.

[00:16:45] So again, that's getting up there like a South Point

[00:16:48] but not quite as bad.

[00:16:49] Again, it's a two-day event.

[00:16:51] The entry fee includes two fun filled days of Bingo.

[00:16:55] All games pay $10,000 with three chances in a cover all

[00:16:59] the first chance at $50,000.

[00:17:01] So that is definitely on par with South Point.

[00:17:05] The second chance is $20,000

[00:17:06] and they have a third chance for $10,000.

[00:17:09] Now what you're gonna get,

[00:17:10] you're gonna get a nine pack.

[00:17:11] Again, this is very similar to what South Point has.

[00:17:14] You're gonna get food vouchers.

[00:17:16] You're gonna get a Dabber and a souvenir.

[00:17:18] They also again like South Point

[00:17:20] have the special room offers.

[00:17:23] So if you buy your hotel room for Sunday night

[00:17:26] and remember the event is always on a Monday

[00:17:28] and a Tuesday, well then they're gonna give you

[00:17:30] the Monday and Tuesday night hotel room for free.

[00:17:34] Okay, again, this is absolutely just like

[00:17:36] South Point does for their events.

[00:17:39] What is different for this

[00:17:40] is that this is actually taking place over three hotels.

[00:17:44] Okay, this is taking place in Gold Coast Hotel and Casino,

[00:17:48] the Sun Coast Hotel and Casino as well as Samstown.

[00:17:52] So that's something that you need to know.

[00:17:53] I think that that kind of increases the amount of people

[00:17:55] but in retrospect, I don't think the crowd

[00:17:57] is as big because in that room at South Point

[00:17:59] it is 2,000 people.

[00:18:01] I don't know what the capacity is for these

[00:18:03] but maybe all collectively they could still be under 2,000

[00:18:06] but regardless just something to keep in mind

[00:18:08] is that it is actually happening in three hotels.

[00:18:11] So that is it for some of this information.

[00:18:14] I know that there are a lot of other things going on.

[00:18:17] There's so many bingo events, so little time

[00:18:19] but hopefully this gives you some idea

[00:18:21] of a few options that you have

[00:18:23] not only on the West Coast

[00:18:24] but hopefully on the East Coast as well.

[00:18:27] So people get out there, play some bingo and enjoy.

[00:18:31] But in the meantime, thank you so much for listening

[00:18:33] to this week's episode of the Broke Bingo Attic.

[00:18:37] I truly hope you'll come back for the next one.

[00:18:39] Thanks so much, bye.
